Autogenic relaxation means using visual imagery and body awareness that comes from within you in order to relax.

  • Repeat words or suggestions in your mind that help you relax and reduce muscle tension.
  • Imagine going somewhere that you have visited before which is peaceful.
  • Focus on controlled, relaxing breathing, slowing your heart rate and relaxing each part of your body bit by bit.
