You may also meet visitors from outside agencies, including one of the team of SIA Peer Support Workers who provide support to newly-injured people, their families and friends. They visit the SCI Centre weekly and are happy to share their experiences of SCI and how it has impacted on their life.
It takes time to put names to faces, to work out who is who and what is happening to your relative. It is totally understandable that you may feel bewildered at first, but you will soon become familiar with the ward and the various members of staff.
You or your relative will be given a leaflet or brochure giving comprehensive information about the hospital and its services to help you become familiar with all the facilities available.
